Profile...

Linda has sewn all her life, beginning at the feet of her mother, using fabric scraps to make clothes for her Barbie dolls.

Linda grew up in NE Ohio and took her first offical sewing class in 7th grade.  She went on to her first year in college at Ohio University in the field of Journalism. She was President of her dorm and was honored with the University's President's Award from her RA's nomination. She transferred after Freshman year to Kent State University to pursue a degree in Marketing while taking sewing classes from the design school. After graduation Linda obtained a position in the International Department of Roadway Express, a trucking company in Akron. She worked with many agents across the globe to help establish Roadway's international shipping business and became the #1 Consultant in the Research and Development department.  Her aspiration for clothing design switched gears with the purchase of a first home.  Linda began to search for classes on interior design and sewing while still working full time at Roadway Express.

In 1997, with a burning desire to own her own business, Linda began a career with her favorite skin care company, Mary Kay. This low risk endeavor gave her a creative path to follow. Still, it wasn't until she and her husband built a new home in Valley City, OH that the idea of A Room With A View Studio came to light. In March of 2000, Linda quit her 10 year career at Roadway to pour herself full-time into the creative business of sewing. Along with custom draperies, valances, pillows, indoor and outdoor cushions, upholstery, bedding and bath accessories, she has added hard treatments: blinds, shutters, pleated shades, automation, panel track and roller shades to the line.

She was Secretary of the NE Ohio Chapter of the Window Coverings Association of America for two years and then served as President.  In March 2008 she returned from attending her fourth Design and Workroom Conference in Knoxville, TN with increased knowledge of the design and window industry.

Linda is also a six year member of the Valley City Chamber of Commerce--a fourth year Director and 2010 Vice President; a member of Women in Business, supporting community growth; a 2009 graduate of Leadership Medina County and a passionate volunteer for the Medina County Society for the Prevention of Cruely to Animals (SPCA).
